Summer Escape 2009 Mid Week Report

It is day 4 of 6 of camp and many of us are tired. Last night the campers got to "sneak out" for a snack and this morning a gorilla showed up at breakfast. Tonight the campers will get an opportunity to write a letter to God after hearing the Gospel. Last night they heard about what sin is and how it destroys us.

So far I have played the part of a security guard (in the rain) as groups arrived at camp. Lost in a tug of war between the boys and girls (I fell into a kiddie pool fully clothed). Dressed up as a an American Gladiator, a Navy Seal and have been trying to beat the world record in jumping rope. At the end of lunch I get a bucket of water thrown at me.

WHY?

To let kids be kids. To hear them laugh, have fun, relax and let their walls come down.

Other staff are having the privilege of sharing their stories with the campers, leading in song, communicating the Gospel with words. All of us leaders are sharing Christ with our actions. We all have different roles to play this week.

Pray that God gets all the glory as campers see and hear about Jesus and the offer of salvation being extended this week.
